Drafting the Proposal |
The Faculty Executive Committee (FEC) of the school or college drafts a proposal for new or amended language for the Faculty Bylaws and/or Regulations. The proposal must include:
|

The FEC chair sends the draft proposal to the chair of CERJ, with copies to the CERJ's Staff Advisor. |
CERJ Review |
CERJ conducts a thorough review of the entire Faculty Bylaws and Regulations, including but not limited to the proposed revisions, to verify that they are consistent with the Code of the Senate (Standing Orders and Bylaws of the UC Regents, and systemwide and divisional Bylaws and Regulations) and is written in precise legislative language to have the effect intended by the drafters. (CERJ need not approve the substance of the proposal for new or amended language consideration.)
|
Faculty Approval |
The FEC Chair brings the proposal before the respective school or college faculty for approval of the new or amended language in the Faculty Bylaws and/or Regulations. |
Representative Assembly Informational Item |
Once approved, then the FEC Chair sends an approved, clean version of the Faculty Bylaws and Regulations to the CERJ’s Staff Advisor to be placed on an upcoming Representative Assembly agenda as an informational item only. |

The approved Faculty Bylaws and Regulations are then posted on the Davis Division Website for Bylaws and Regulations for each school and college. |
