Academic Senate Committees

The Davis Division of the Academic Senate operates through standing committees with bylaws that outline their individual scopes and authorities. On occasion, special committees and task forces are formed to address issues that do not fit within a standing committee's charge, or that involve intensive work beyond the capacity of a standing committee.

As defined by the Standing Orders of the Regents, Academic Senate committees approve and oversee courses and curricula, and establish requirements for admissions, certificates, and degrees. They also advise the administration on budgetary, personnel, and other matters pertinent to UC operations.
