Process for approval of joint graduate/undergraduate degree program

[Advice to the Faculty Advisors to the proposed joint Bachelor of Science/Master of Arts in Geography program 8/2005]

A joint Bachelor of Science/Master of Arts in Geography program was proposed.  CERJ advised that (1) Systemwide Senate Regulations 300 and 510 do not permit students to be enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree programs simultaneously; (2) CERJ has no authority to waive any provision in Senate legislation; and (3) the only recourse would be to request a Variance from these Regulations from the Academic Assembly.
