Exceptions to regulations governing graduate students, including repeating courses

[Advice to Divisional Chair Jeffrey Gibeling 4/13/2000]

CERJ interprets DDR A540(F)(2) as permitting graduate students to repeat courses for credit only if they receive a C or below.  The practice of the Graduate Division and the Registrar of granting exceptions for students with grades of B- or above is without any authority.  All exceptions to DD Regulations must, according to DD 73(C)(5), be approved by the Executive Council.
