MEMBERS
OF THE REPRESENTATIVE ASSEMBLY, DAVIS DIVISION OF THE ACADEMIC SENATE Dear
Colleagues, The
call for the winter meeting of the Representative Assembly of the Davis
Division of the Academic Senate is attached.
The meeting is scheduled for 19 February 2003 at 3:00 PM in the MUII
room of the Memorial Union. This call
is also posted on http://academicsenate.ucdavis.edu/repassembly.htm. A paper copy of the agenda is available upon
request from the Academic Senate Office in Voorhies Hall, room 301 (2-2231). I
would like to call your attention to the items on the agenda. First, the State of the Campus Address will
be given by Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef, as is customary at the winter
Representative Assembly meeting.
Second, The Report of the Faculty Research Lecture Committee will be
presented by Professor Donald Rothchild. This report will announce the
recipient of the prestigious 2002-2003 Faculty Research Lecture Award. The
Committee on Elections, Rules and Jurisdiction has proposed an amendment to
Davis Division Bylaw 141 to clarify the relationship of the faculty members of
the old Department of Education to the new Faculty of Education and not the
Faculty of Letters and Science. The
Report of the Committee on Committees shows the Academic Senate Committee
appointments made since the October 2002 Representative Assembly meeting. I
also draw your attention to the Annual Report of the Joint Academic Federation/Personnel
Committee, and the Annual Report of the College of Agricultural and
Environmental Sciences. The
complete agenda packet is being sent to departmental, at-large and ex
officio members of the Representative Assembly and to department chairs. Please check the membership list included
with the meeting call to determine whether you are a member of the
Assembly. All members are asked to
attend meetings to enable the Assembly to accomplish its business. The sign-in sheet will be available starting
2:45 and roll will be called at the start of the meeting. The meeting will start at 3:00 PM to ensure
that business can be completed by 5:00 PM.
It is important that any departmental representatives who are unable to
attend ask their first of second alternate to attend in their place. Thank
you for your continued interest in the Academic Senate at the University of
California. Sincerely, Bruce
R. Madewell, Chair Academic
Senate, Davis Division |
