COMMITTEE ON EDUCATIONAL POLICY
To: The Representative Assembly of the Davis Division of the Academic Senate
During the 2000-01 academic year, the Committee has met nine times and has one more meeting scheduled.
The Committee examined, accepted, and made recommendations for 7 program reviews:
Human Development; Plant Biology; Animal Science; Biochemistry & Molecular Biology; Cell Biology; Neurobiology, Physiology & Behavior; and Biological Sciences
In addition, The Committee considered and reported on the following issues:
Request for new ORU "UC Davis Health System Cancer Center"
Name Changes:
The use of proposed additional funding for undergraduate education
The proposed UC Teaching, Learning & Technology Center
Davis Division Regulation 538, Examinations
Proposed utilization of the Varsity Theatre for large lecture classes
Report of the Ad Hoc Panel for Academic Review of University Extension
Proposed changes in regulations regarding communication skills (composition) in the undergraduate curriculum
Recommendations regarding intercampus summer enrollment
Proposal on Dual Admissions to UC and community colleges
Internship credit and ENWS as they relate to minimum progress
Department status for the Division of Biomedical Engineering
Waiting lists and drop date
Effect of increased graduate student enrollment
Faculty supply for summer session
Reconstitution of the Division of Education as a School of Education
Proposed Masters of Public Health Degree Program
Effect of the number of undeclared quarters on time to graduation
