Committee on Undergraduate Instruction and Program Review
Annual Report
May 19th, 2003
The primary activity of the Undergraduate Instruction and Program Review Committee (UIPR) was to deal with the reviews of 5 undergraduate programs - those in French, Classics, Computer Science, Anthropology, and Religious Studies. In addition to this work, the chair of UIPR also was a member of the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award subcommittee (which selected 22 finalists and 15 award winners from an initial pool of 49 applications), the AC4 educational subcommittee, and the Classroom Space Committee.
Since this is a brand new committee formed as part of the change to the Undergraduate Council structure, much time was spent initially ascertaining precisely the charge of the committee. Once this was understood, the work went fairly smoothly.
Sincerely,
Matthew Farrens, Chair

Ellen Sutter, ex officio
Donald Johns, Academic Federation Representative
Jeff Mason, Graduate Student Representative
