The Course Approval System is an online system developed and maintained by the Office of the Registrar to facilitate the review and approval of proposed courses. To obtain an account for the current Course Approval System, or for questions regarding the use of the system, please contact Randall Larson-Maynard in the Registrar's Office.
The Davis Division: Committee on Courses of Instruction (COCI), Offices of the Chancellor and Provost, Davis Division: Academic Senate Office, Registrar's Office, and the Campus Council for Information Technology (CCFIT) have been working to improve the course approval process and the Course Approval System. Short term improvements, focused on the web interface used by all accessing the Course Approval System, were identified, approved by COCI, reviewed by the Registrar's Office, and implemented in spring and summer 2005.
Currently an overall review of the course approval process and system are underway. The long term goal of streamlining the process and enhancing the system are dependent upon support and funding. Based on the overwhelming interest in the progress toward a long term effort, the Academic Senate Office, with the approval of COCI, created this web page that includes links to historical and current documents demonstrating accomplishments and current status as a means to inform the Academic Senate and interested campus community members.
